You need a level flat surface on which you can build the shed. The floor can be a level concrete pad or you can build a floor with one of 2 options:
1. build a foundation with 2x4 wood and lay a plywood floor on top or
2. purchase our ready to go foundation kit and lay a plywood floor on top. (we do not supply the plywood floor with the foundation kit)
Yes, you can build the shed on an existing concrete pad provided it's level.
If you don't have a concrete pad, a foundation is needed on which a plywood floor can be laid. It is made of hot dipped galvanized steel.
The basic requirement is a flat, horizontal building site!
Please protect the sheet metal parts from scratches.
Wear gloves during installation - parts may have sharp edges.
No. At least two people are required to assemble a shed of any size-at least one to position parts or panels, and one to handle fasteners and tools. On larger sheds, you may wish to have even more assistance.
Assembly time depends on a variety of factors, including weather conditions, tool available, DIY skill and the pace at which you work. After constructing the base, generally, you should plan on at least one day working with someone who can assit you. There’s also estimated time on each product manual for your reference.
Assembly time varies depending on the size of the shed, whether you have a foundation or not. Here are some estimates for some of our basic sheds: The 10x8 takes two people 4-5 hours, the 5x3 takes 1 hour, the 4x8 takes 3-4 hours; and the 8x6 takes 2 people 3-4 hours. Your choice of foundation will add more time to this.

Before installation, consider the car's route into and out of the carport as well as your route from the car to your house and back. Mark the poles' location on the ground and make sure the vehicle can safely enter the carport. This is very important when the entryway is curved. Make sure there is enough space for the carport itself. Walls, fences, balconies and trees could become obstacles.
